Summary
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an experienced Geomagic Software Trainer to support customers, channel partners, and internal teams across the Americas.
This role serves as a customer-facing technical expert responsible for developing and delivering high-quality virtual, classroom, and onsite training for Geomagic Design X and Geomagic Control X. The Geomagic Software Trainer will help users build practical proficiency in reverse engineering, scan-to-CAD, dimensional inspection, and digital manufacturing workflows.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with Geomagic software, reverse engineering, metrology, and 3D scanning technologies, along with strong presentation and instructional skills. This individual will work independently to deliver technical training, adapt content to customer needs, and provide best-practice guidance for complex manufacturing and inspection applications.
This is a home-based position within the United States with up to 50% travel throughout North America. Candidates located near Hexagon facilities in Irvine, CA; Novi, MI; Irving, TX; or Charlotte, NC are preferred.
What You'll Do

Deliver instructor-led training for Geomagic Design X and Geomagic Control X through virtual, Hexagon classroom, and customer onsite formats.

Provide beginner, intermediate, advanced, and workflow-specific instruction based on customer requirements and experience levels.

Serve as a subject-matter expert for reverse engineering, scan-to-CAD, dimensional inspection, and related digital manufacturing workflows.

Facilitate customer, channel partner, and internal employee training, including workshops, webinars, and certification activities.

Prepare software environments, sample datasets, scanners, workstations, and supporting materials for training courses.

Create and maintain course outlines, instructor guides, presentations, exercises, assessments, and supporting datasets.

Update training content to reflect new software releases, product enhancements, industry practices, and recommended workflows.

Develop application-focused training for customers across industries including aerospace, automotive, medical device, industrial equipment, consumer products, and general manufacturing.

Provide technical guidance related to point clouds, polygon meshes, feature extraction, surface and solid modeling, CAD transfer, inspection alignment, GD&T, deviation analysis, and reporting.

Adapt demonstrations, exercises, and training approaches to customer parts, processes, applications, and business objectives.

Identify customer skill gaps and adoption barriers and recommend appropriate training, software, or service solutions.

Partner with Product Management, Application Engineering, Technical Support, Marketing, Sales, and other internal teams to ensure training content aligns with customer and market needs.

Capture customer feedback and communicate product, application, and workflow insights to appropriate internal stakeholders.

Support selected product demonstrations, evaluations, pre-sales engagements, and customer workshops.

Deliver technical presentations at trade shows, user events, open houses, partner meetings, and industry conferences.

Support channel partners in strengthening their ability to demonstrate, support, and train customers on Geomagic solutions.

Independently manage training schedules, course preparation, travel requirements, and customer commitments while maintaining a consistent and professional learning experience.
What You'll Bring
-
5+ years of experience in reverse engineering, dimensional inspection, 3D scanning, metrology, CAD, technical training, application engineering, or a related technical field.

Advanced hands-on proficiency with Geomagic Design X and/or Geomagic Control X.

Demonstrated experience delivering technical training, application support, consulting, or other customer-facing technical services.

Strong understanding of reverse engineering and inspection workflows, including point clouds, polygon meshes, feature extraction, surface and solid modeling, CAD transfer, inspection alignment, GD&T, deviation analysis, and report creation.

Experience working with 3D scanning, metrology, CAD, or related manufacturing technologies.

Ability to independently evaluate customer requirements and adapt technical instruction to varying levels of experience and application complexity.

Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to audiences ranging from new software users to experienced engineers and manufacturing professionals.

Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Strong customer orientation with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Ability to work independently in a home-based environment while collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% throughout North America, including overnight and multi-day travel.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position within the United States with up to 50% travel throughout North America to support customer onsite training, classroom instruction, partner enablement, and industry events. Candidates located near Hexagon facilities in Irvine, California; Novi, Michigan; Irving, Texas; or Charlotte, North Carolina are preferred. Additional U.S. locations may be considered based on business needs, proximity to a major airport, and access to suitable Hexagon training facilities.
