Position Summary
The Business Planning & Compensation Leader plays a key leadership role within the Americas Portable Operations team, driving the strategic planning, forecasting, and compensation processes that underpin business performance. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, HR, and Data teams to ensure data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and alignment of compensation programs with business goals.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional business acumen, strong analytical skills, and deep expertise in business planning, forecasting, and sales compensation management. This individual will lead initiatives that enhance visibility into business performance, providing actionable insights that optimize growth, profitability, and sales effectiveness across the Americas region.
Job Responsibilities
Business Planning & Forecasting
- Establish well-defined, data-informed sales and revenue objectives, and proactively identify emerging business trends through comprehensive planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Lead the annual and quarterly business planning cycles, including target setting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Product leaders to anticipate market trends and proactively adjust forecasts to capture opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Analyze pipeline health, conversion rates, and regional performance to inform planning decisions.
- Deliver clear, actionable insights and executive-ready reporting that highlight performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to evaluate business performance and guide strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodologies, tools, and governance processes.
Analytics, Data & Insights
- Deliver clear, actionable insights and enhance business transparency by implementing comprehensive reporting processes and strong data governance.
- Oversee the development of KPI dashboards, pipeline reports, and performance scorecards to provide real-time visibility into business health.
- Translate data into strategic insights that inform business priorities, resource allocation, and operational decisions.
- Partner with the global data and analytics teams to implement scalable tools and ensure alignment of regional and global metrics.
- Lead data governance initiatives to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of reporting across systems and regions.
Compensation, Quota & Territory Design
- Design, administer, and govern sales compensation plans that align with business objectives and drive performance.
- Lead the design, administration, and governance of sales compensation plans for the respective areas.
- Manage end-to-end compensation processes, including quota distribution, payout calculation, and validation.
- Oversee territory design and account assignment processes to balance workload and optimize coverage.
- Track and analyze sales performance trends to assess the effectiveness of incentive programs and recommend adjustments.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in business planning, forecasting, analytics, or sales compensation management within a complex, matrixed organization.
Proven experience leading large-scale planning and performance management processes across multiple business functions or geographies.
Strong understanding of sales compensation design, quota setting, and performance measurement.
Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and data visualization skills; proficiency with Excel, Power BI/Tableau.
Proficiency with CRM and compensation systems (e.g., Salesforce, Xactly).
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and adept at managing cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a regional or global Operations or Sales Operations role.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and performance analytics best practices.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
Work Environment
This is a remote position based in the United States. Work is primarily performed using standard office equipment such as a computer, telephone, printer/copier, etc. Vision and manual dexterity are required for extended use of keyboard and screen. Frequent communication is required for collaboration and reporting.
Occasional travel may be required for team meetings or training.
