This position is based in Toulouse, France and will be offered in a hybrid work model. The role provides flexibility to balance in-office collaboration with remote working, supporting productivity while maintaining a strong connection with colleagues and global teams.

Job Responsibilities

Hexagon develops and supports the Actran software suite for acoustic simulation. Leading automotive companies (OEM’s and their suppliers), aircraft manufacturers, aircraft engine suppliers, audio system designers (and more) are using our technology to improve the acoustic performance of their products virtually, through simulation. 

 

As a member of the multiphysics group, you will be integrated to our Acoustics Engineering Solutions team. Your main responsibilities will be to deliver services projects for our customers with Actran Software and create advanced proof of concepts, prototypes, innovative solutions and engineering demonstration models.

 

The Services Engineer, Acoustics will report to the Acoustics Engineering Solutions manager.

  • Creating and validating proof of concepts through intensive collaboration with the Product Development Team and Product Management Team
  • Creating prototypes based on customer industrial models
  • Creating vibro-acoustic and aeroacoustic models to demonstrate Actran advanced capabilities
  • Working on challenging acoustic, vibro-acoustic and aero-acoustic consulting projects using Actran and other leading CAE software
  • Providing advanced technical support of the Actran acoustic simulation software to worldwide customers and regional technical teams in collaboration with the Customer Support group
  • Providing advanced training to our customers
  • Creating, updating and improving technical documentation for training, sales enablement and product marketing
  • Supporting our regional teams and our distributors in promoting and using our products.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in engineering is a prerequisite, preferably in Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience in NVH simulation and Acoustics
  • Experience with commercial CAE software (structural FEA, acoustics FEA or CFD package) such as Actran, SimCenter 3D, VA-One, Comsol, Wave-6, Nastran, Ansys, Optistruct, Abaqus, StarCCm+, Fluent, scFLOW, PowerFlow.
  • Fluent in English. able to communicate effectively within an international team.
  • Programming skills (Matlab, Python, VS Code)
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to create engineering solutions to customer problems
  • First experience in an industrial environment would be a huge plus
