Summary
The Supply Chain & Logistics Support Specialist plays a critical role in managing stock, inventory, and logistics operations across our UK factories in Telford and Milton Keynes. This position supports the full lifecycle of materials planning and logistics, from procurement to dispatch, ensuring stock accuracy, timely deliveries, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
You will be a key player in maintaining our stock, managing ERP-based procurement, conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections, and ensuring smooth coordination with suppliers, application engineers, and internal stakeholders.
This is a varied role, ideal for someone looking to grow within the business.
Comprehensive training will be provided during the first 6 months, with support from your manager and technical team.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage operational, demo, and sales stock across UK business units.
- Procure parts and calibration equipment via ERP, including supplier RFQs and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using tools like Asset Panda.
- Perform annual calibration checks and request quotations from suppliers.
- Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on high-value precision equipment.
- Package and coordinate safe transportation of gauges and machinery.
- Oversee customs documentation and compliance (HMRC import/export).
- Raise CAPEX requests and support financial analysis for new assets.
- Support corrective actions and quality improvements in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers and customers regarding stock and order status.
- Participate in stock counts at Milton Keynes (pool car available for travel).
- Support gross profit improvement initiatives and cost efficiency in transport/logistics.
Qualifications
- 1+ year experience in logistics or supply chain roles
- Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset, especially for financial documentation (e.g., CAPEX)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full, clean driving license
