Summary
The Accounts Assistant will play an essential role in ensuring accurate and timely management of customer accounts. This position oversees aged debt, supports daily banking and cash posting activities, and maintains high standards of financial accuracy and communication across the wider finance team. The role also contributes to issue resolution and continuous improvement of finance processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the Aged Debt portfolio and ensure timely follow-up on overdue invoices.
- Oversee monthly Direct Debit collections.
- Post daily cash across all bank accounts and complete daily bank reconciliations.
- Support the daily banking function, ensuring receipts are allocated correctly.
- Collaborate with Finance team members to maintain strong relationships across the business.
- Assist in resolving customer account issues and queries.
- Contribute to the improvement of finance procedures and support finance-related projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar finance support role.
- Strong understanding of cash posting, bank reconciliation, and ledger maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with internal teams and customers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines reliably.
- Proactive mindset with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to escalate issues appropriately and collaborate in a team-focused environment.
