Systems/Mechanical Engineering Intern

Summary

 

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Systems/Mechanical Engineering intern for our North Kingstown, RI location.

Description:  

We are looking for an undergraduate internship candidate with a background in Mechanical, Electrical or System engineering with a strong interest in cross-disciplinary applications.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

  • Guided execution of projects as assigned by Engineering Manager to provide production, design or manufacturing support or increase efficiency of engineering group
  • Project execution will be supported by an engineering mentor
  • Configuration of Coordinate Measuring System and electro-mechanical configurations
  • Mechanical/electrical layouts or Software tool creation/utilization depending on applicant background
  • Programming in measurement host software
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics of complete multidisciplinary systems
  • Integration of new products into existing systems

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Computer Engineering or other equivalent technical degree program and in good academic standing.
  • Self-starting/Enthusiastic to learn
  • Interest in multi-disciplinary work and experience
  • Interest in hands on work primarily with electrical or mechanical systems controlled by software
  • Experience with metrology equipment or software a plus
  • Experience configuring complex electrical or mechanical systems a plus
  • Preferred discipline of electrical, system or mechanical engineering
  • Ability to work Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week during the summer break
