Director of Product Management

Summary

The Director of Product Management - Production Software will lead a global team managing a portfolio of CAM software products. The role focuses on driving innovation, customer engagement, and growth while applying Lean and Agile principles. It requires extensive leadership experience, deep knowledge of CNC machines, and the ability to navigate complex global organizations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a global team of approximately 12 product managers responsible for managing a mature portfolio of 25 products and 5 solutions. Foster a high level of employee satisfaction and career development while ensuring exceptional performance across the team.
  • Product Strategy and Portfolio Management: Oversee the definition and maintenance of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Focus on maximizing customer value, revenue growth, and market share through innovative product strategies that support the production software's continuous evolution.
  • Customer Engagement & Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across marketing, sales, and business development teams globally. Engage regularly with customers in the US, Germany, the UK, and Italy to understand market needs and drive the adoption of the product portfolio.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the competitive landscape, conducting market and competitor analysis to inform product development decisions.
  • Lean & Agile Implementation: Lead the team in adopting Lean and Agile methodologies, ensuring consistent application of best practices for product management and driving the transition to next-generation solutions.
  • Travel Requirements: Be willing to travel internationally 20%-25% of the time to meet customers, partners, and internal teams.
     

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. A master's degree in business or marketing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within discrete manufacturing and software environments.
  • Extensive experience with CNC machines and CAM software.
  • Proven track record in managing software portfolios, leading product management teams, and driving growth.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean and Agile software principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, with the capacity to guide teams in a matrix organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across a global organization.
  • Ability to navigate complex, product-focused environments and bring a holistic perspective to decision-making.
  • High degree of flexibility and resilience in managing challenging situations and ambiguity.
  • A mission-driven approach, demonstrating passion and self-motivation to succeed in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with software design or development is an additional Preferred Skill
