Role Overview
As an Applications Engineer at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, you will play a pivotal role in enabling customer success through applied engineering, technical expertise, and close collaboration across global Solution Hub teams.
In this role, you will support the implementation of advanced metrology and automation solutions by delivering technical demonstrations, developing custom applications, and training customers across international markets. Working closely with product development, testing, commissioning, sales, and after-sales support teams, you will provide technical expertise across the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence portfolio.
This position is well suited for recent graduates or early-career professionals in mechanical, quality, automation, or related engineering fields who are motivated to grow in a collaborative, international environment.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver hardware and software product demonstrations, including complex and customized setups, to prospective and existing customers.
• Clearly communicate product capabilities and benefits to enable customers to make informed technical and business decisions.
• Support the sales organization by recommending tailored solutions based on customer-specific requirements and applications.
• Develop custom applications and programs to meet customer needs and project specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
• Conduct customer training sessions to ensure effective and confident use of Hexagon solutions.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications to support quotations and project proposals.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive, responsive, and professional technical support.
• Continuously improve existing applications and stay current with emerging technologies in applications engineering, metrology, and automation.
• Collaborate closely with Automation Solution Hub teams on product development, testing, and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong customer-oriented mindset with a focus on service excellence.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• Experience with dimensional metrology software such as PC-DMIS or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of robotics and industrial automation systems.
• Programming experience in C#, PLCs (preferably Siemens PLC), or similar technologies.
• Experience with Visual Basic.
• Exposure to manufacturing, quality, or inspection environments.
