Technical Specialist - Design & Engineering Service Application

Job Summary

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer in Hexagon’s Global Support Team, you’ll deliver advanced support for the Romax software product line, ensuring customer success and satisfaction. This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex problems, communicating technical concepts clearly, and working with cutting-edge drivetrain and EV simulation technologies. Romax is a high-value solution used to simulate gears, bearings, gearboxes, electro-mechanical transmissions, and EV drivetrains, providing rapid modeling and insights into NVH performance, thermal behavior, and structural integrity. Alongside Adams, Romax forms a complete package for addressing power transmission engineering challenges. This is a hybrid position located in Pune, India. Job level determined by qualifications and experience.

What You'll Do

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line technical support to end customers for all Romax products, ranging from basic to advanced content, while meeting KPIs for response time and quality
  • Provide basic and advanced software training and demonstrations as part of customer support activities
  • Create technical content such as knowledge articles and presentations
  • Engage with the Romax online community of users
  • Share feedback with sales, services, and R&D teams to improve products

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • Ideally 2-3 years of industrial experience, especially in a relevant industry such as automotive, as a powertrain design, test, or manufacturing engineer (recent grads are still welcome to apply)
  • Ability to explain complex technical problems with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong self-organization and time-management skills with a commitment to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to interact in a team environment

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Simulation experience with Romax or Adams software
  • FEA experience (MSC Nastran, ANSYS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of transmission and drivetrain components
  • Experience with common CAD systems (CATIA, Creo, SolidWORKS, etc.)
  • Matlab/Python experience
