Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Project Trainee Intern to join our Pune team. This is an onsite internship opportunity designed for recent graduates or postgraduates eager to gain hands-on experience in materials science, data management, and digital transformation projects within a global technology leader.

About the Role:

The Project Trainee Intern will work closely with engineering teams to organize, analyze, and structure material data. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for materials science and an interest in applying emerging technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) to real-world industrial challenge

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with customer material data onsite and manually transform scattered data into a structured format.
  • Analyze material property data across various grades such as metals, plastics, and elastomers.
  • Ensure consistency and traceability of data within internal databases and systems.
  • Explore automation and LLM-based approaches for data transformation and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and communicate findings.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Material Science or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0–2 years of experience in materials engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of material behavior including stiffness, strength, impact, creep, fatigue, and NVH.
  • Proficiency with intermediate-level Microsoft Excel functions (pivot tables, lookups, charts).
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new tools, especially AI/ML-based technologies.

 

Work Environment:

This is an onsite internship based in Pune, India. Employees will spend part of their time working onsite and the remainder remotely. Work involves regular computer-based tasks and collaboration through digital platforms. The duration of this internship is 3 months.
