Summary

Technical Sales Specialist – Production Software Division (Remote – PT/MT Time Zones)

Location

Remote – United States (Candidates must reside within Pacific Time (PT) or Mountain Time (MT) zones)

Position Summary

The Technical Sales Specialist serves as a trusted advisor to customers and prospects by combining deep technical expertise with strong consultative sales skills. This role is responsible for supporting the sales process through discovery, solution development, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical presentations focused on production software solutions for manufacturing, fabrication, and industrial operations.

Working closely with Account Managers, Product Teams, and Customer Success stakeholders, the Technical Sales Specialist helps customers understand how software solutions can improve productivity, streamline workflows, increase operational visibility, and drive measurable business outcomes.

This is a customer-facing role requiring strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to translate complex software capabilities into practical business value.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Solution Consulting

  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, qualify, and develop sales opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer business objectives, operational challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Design and recommend software solutions that align with customer production and operational goals.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the sales cycle.

Product Demonstrations & Presentations

  • Deliver compelling software demonstrations tailored to customer use cases and business needs.
  • Present technical and business value propositions to stakeholders ranging from operators and engineers to executive leadership.
  • Develop customized presentations, workflows, and demonstration environments.

Technical Evaluation & Proof of Concept

  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot engagements.
  • Validate solution fit, integration requirements, and expected business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with implementation and support teams to ensure successful handoff and deployment readiness.

Customer & Industry Expertise

  • Maintain deep knowledge of production software solutions, manufacturing workflows, and industry trends.
  • Stay current on competitive offerings, market developments, and emerging technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during customer engagements, trade shows, webinars, and industry events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams.
  • Provide market feedback to influence product roadmap and solution enhancements.
  • Assist with proposal development, technical responses, and RFP/RFI submissions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, solution consulting, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Experience presenting software solutions to technical and business audiences.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, production operations, fabrication, industrial automation, or related industries.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and business-focused manner.
  • Experience conducting software demonstrations and customer workshops.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as required for customer meetings, industry events, and team collaboration.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Production Management Software, ERP integrations, CAD/CAM, Industrial IoT, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, production planning, scheduling, quality management, or operational analytics.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, cloud-based, or enterprise software solutions.
  • Familiarity with API integrations, databases, reporting platforms, or data analytics tools.
  • Experience working within a consultative or solution-based sales environment.
