Calibration Technician I

Summary

 

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Calibration Technician-I.

Functional Summary

 

Responsible for calibrating and certifying the Portable product line models of Arms, Trackers, NextSense, and AICON Scanners to applicable standards.

Job Responsibilities

•    Understand the Metrology Portable Service ISO 17025 Quality Systems
•    Aides with performing accurate, correct, and repeatable calibrations of customer equipment to appropriate standards
•    Assists with documenting and reporting results, provide certification traceable to NIST and ISO 17025 standards
•    Maintains company equipment in good working order
•    Ensure equipment selected for use is calibrated and current
•    Has a complete understanding of SMax and can complete SMax calibration reports
•    Assists with documenting calibration processes and preparing reports, as required
•    Assists with repairing and calibrating assessment tools and measurement of equipment
•    Assists with preparing all documentation applicable for various assignments
•    Assists with monitoring and completing all business tasks within timeframe and ensures optimal quality
•    Maintains thorough knowledge of company’s products and understanding of structure
•    Remains current with industry trends and best practices
•    Assigned to a team to complete comprehensive project related tasks
•    Learns from and studies experienced Calibration Technicians’ techniques and work
•    Remains current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed
•    Performs other related duties as assigned 

 

Required Skills/Abilities

 

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong mechanical aptitude
•    Experience in Calibration of PCMM's and/or Machine repair
•    Experience using hand tools
•    Understanding of SMax
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office
•    Strong attention to detail, organized and self-motivated 
•    Works under moderate direction as well as in a team environment

 

Physical Demands

 

Employee must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform essential job functions, absent undue hardship.

•    Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling
•    Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects
•    Regularly move around the office and occasionally the factory floor 
•    Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
•    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
•    Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

 

Work Environment ( Calibration Room)

 

Employee will encounter work environment characteristics described below while performing the essential job functions and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform the essential job functions, absent undue hardship.

 

•   Occasional visits to the factory floor 
•    Calibration Room is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated 
•    Calibration Room noise levels are considered low to moderate with the temperature 19.7 degree Celsius
•    Factory noise levels are considered moderate
•    If required, PPE will be provided
•    No travel required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience
