Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Operational Excellence & Enablement drives process excellence and enablement for the Americas Portable division. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for improving end-to-end business processes that support regional performance across commercial, operational, and administrative workflows, including the handoffs between them. The role defines, documents, and standardizes how work is performed; establishes process performance metrics; and manages a continuous improvement pipeline that delivers measurable outcomes. It also leads the region’s training and enablement roadmap, including curriculum, content, and governance. In close partnership with technology teams, this leader connects process, systems, data, and people to design, implement, and sustain meaningful improvements.
Job Responsibilities
Business Process Optimization, Continuous Improvement & Technology Partnership
- Drive process excellence across the Americas Portable business, improving core processes and the cross-functional handoffs that connect commercial, operational, and administrative workflows.
- Map, document, and standardize end-to-end processes with clear ownership, governance, performance baselines, and practical metrics.
- Build and manage an integrated regional improvement roadmap that connects process design, system capability, data quality, and user behavior.
- Prioritize and manage the Americas Portable continuous improvement and business enhancement pipeline, sequencing high-value opportunities against available capacity.
- Translate process pain points into clear, prioritized requirements for IT and business systems teams, and partner on release, testing, enablement, and adoption.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma and structured problem-solving projects from charter through control, ensuring validated and sustained benefits.
- Assess automation and digitization opportunities that materially improve process performance and reduce workarounds or point solutions.
- Close the loop on improvements by gathering user feedback, measuring realized impact, and applying lessons learned to the improvement pipeline.
- Align with global and divisional process standards, localizing as needed and representing the Americas in cross-regional process forums.
- Coach managers and teams on improvement methods to build regional capability and sustain continuous improvement practices.
Transformation & Change Delivery
- Lead Americas workstreams for transformation initiatives, including requirements, design input, testing, readiness, cutover, and adoption.
- Manage regional stakeholder alignment, readiness, and risk for major process or system changes.
- Partner with cross-functional and enterprise teams to ensure Americas priorities are reflected in initiative scope and sequencing.
Oversight of Training & Enablement
- Own the Americas Portable training and enablement roadmap.
- Lead the design and ongoing refresh of onboarding, process and system training, playbooks, and competency standards; oversee delivery through team members, subject-matter experts, and vendors.
- Govern the regional enablement content library, including process documentation, playbooks, standard work, and best practices, to maintain a single source of truth.
- Define and report enablement effectiveness metrics, including ramp time, completion, competency, and system adoption.
- Oversee capability building for core business applications and reporting tools.
- Lead and develop a small team of enablement and process resources while managing external training and consulting partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in business process improvement, operations, or enablement, including 2+ years leading people, projects, or cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience optimizing cross-functional processes, including mapping, redesign, standardization, measurement, and delivery of quantified results.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent, with completed improvement projects.
- Experience leading regional workstreams within broader transformation or system implementation programs.
- Proven ability to partner with IT or business systems teams on requirements, prioritization, and adoption.
- Experience developing or overseeing training and enablement programs.
- Working knowledge of enterprise business applications and reporting or analytics tools.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and senior leaders without direct authority.
- Black Belt certification and/or change management credential.
- Experience supporting a matrixed, multi-country Americas organization.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, or hardware-and-software portfolios.
- Familiarity with process mining, workflow automation, or process documentation tools.
- Experience with process governance or business process management frameworks.
What success looks like during the first 12 months
- Continuous improvement pipeline established, with at least 3-4 completed projects delivering measurable cycle-time or cost improvements.
- Joint enhancement backlog and review cadence established with technology teams.
- Americas training and enablement roadmap governed centrally, with measurable improvement in new-hire time-to-productivity.
- Adoption metrics improved and sustained across core business applications.
- Core Americas Portable business processes documented with clear owners, standards, and performance baselines.
