We’re seeking an Entry-Level Portable Metrology Applications Engineer to join our team in Novi, Michigan. In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you’ll work with cutting-edge portable metrology technologies—such as laser trackers, portable arms, and 3D scanners—to deliver measurement solutions, demonstrations, and training. This is an exciting opportunity to develop technical expertise and customer engagement skills while traveling to support customers across North America.
What You'll Do

Conduct on-site and virtual demonstrations of Hexagon’s portable metrology solutions, including portable arms, laser trackers, and 3D scanning systems.

Support regional sales teams by preparing demo setups, proving out measurement processes, and showcasing product capabilities.

Provide customer training on software operation, equipment setup, and best practices in portable metrology.

Perform contract measurement services for customers, ensuring accuracy and satisfaction.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and professional service.

Contribute to documentation, training materials, and internal knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with senior engineers to continuously improve processes and provide product feedback.

Stay current with new technologies, software updates, and metrology techniques.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Basic understanding of 3D measurement principles or coordinate metrology is a plus.

Familiarity with metrology software (PC-DMIS, Inspire, Spatial Analyzer, PolyWorks, etc.) is an advantage.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Willingness to travel up to 70% (primarily within the U.S., with occasional international travel to Canada or Mexico).
