Aftermarket Parts Representative

Summary

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence business area is seeking an Aftermarket Parts Representative to join our team. This position is onsite at our Novi, MI office.

About the Role

 

The Aftermarket Parts Representative will be responsible for promoting and driving the aftermarket parts business across all HMI NA product lines. Responsible for fielding telephone and email inquiries, provide quotations and delivery information, along with technical and installation information as needed. Updates the LX ERP system with part pricing and information, work with procurement to define part stocking levels and address supplier issues. Creates and defines new parts, part numbers, and pricing as products are released or parts are updated.

What You'll Do

  • Corresponds with both internal and external customers via telephone and email
  • Field incoming parts inquiries from multiple locations specifically, email, telephone, Pardot, and website
  • Provides quotations and delivery information to both internal and external customers
  • Maintains stocking levels and parts information in multiple warehouses across the US
  • Provides technical and installation information to internal and external customers
  • Enters parts orders in LX both with customer Pos and credit cards
  • Corresponds with multiple HMI factories and product lines to establish parts offerings and acquire technical information; use of multiple informational systems required
  • Manges off-site inventory at other HMI US locations
  • Works with Commercial Services Process team to improve internal processes and grow the parts business
  • Assists in cycle counting and stockroom duties as needed
  • Resolves complex or unusual requests and problems that may require a customized response and communicates solutions or requested information to the customer
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company’s products and understanding of structure
  • Remains current with industry trends and best practices
  • Remains current with skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars as needed
  • Point person assigned to complete mid-scale comprehensive project related tasks
  • May mentor less experienced AFM Parts Representatives’ developing their skill/knowledge through advice, coaching, and training opportunities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 0– 5 years related experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through and questioning skills
  • Excellent customer service and outstanding telephone skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience managing databases
  • Experience with inventory control or ERP systems, ERP LX or BPCS a plus
  • Creative, analytical, self-motivated, and a team leader
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that changes daily
  • Understanding of warehouse and inventory control principles
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Works independently as well as in a team environment

  • Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects
  • Regularly move around the office and occasionally the warehouse
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
  • Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

  • Primarily an office setting with occasional visits to the warehouse
  • Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated
  • Office noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Warehouse noise levels are considered moderate
  • If required, PPE will be provided
  • May require travel up to 10%
