About the Role:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing support for all Assembly, Calibration, Packaging and Product Development functions. Creates and coordinates the implementation of new or improved assembly and calibration processes. Contributes to layout and planning of manufacturing processes. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing cost, performance, layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines what is needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and optimize production processes, costs, and workflows to create, share, and act upon data-driven insights for planning and improving manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and ensure the manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational
- Evaluate products and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement, recommending enhancements to quality control procedures
- Develops, writes, and maintains detailed work instructions, defines a logical sequence of operations as well as time estimates for each operation specification
- Create, manage and maintain product BOMs and routings, ensuring accurate structure and audits, as well as implementation in the Manufacturing Execution System to optimize material and process flow.
- Maintains and improves factory floor layout in CAD
- Incorporates the 5S and continuous improvement in daily working routine and support activities throughout the facility
- Remains current with technical skills by attending training classes, independent research, and seminars
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 3-5 years’ Manufacturing Engineering experience
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficient with Siemens NX, Solidworks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software required
- Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma principles
- Understanding of prints/diagrams
- Ability to interpret and analyze data
- Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical issues
- Strong technical computer skills
- Strong coordination, organization, follow-through skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office, Excel, Windows, VISIO
- Strong collaboration skills, both internally and cross functionally
- Works under general direction as well as in a team environment
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Experience with plant layout and design, in AutoCAD, VISIO or similar
- Project Management: contributing to or leading cross functional teams and managing multiple projects
- Ability to apply Statistical Process Control to reduce variability and waste
- ERP and/or MES experience- SAP, AS400, Smart Factory Manager or similar

- Works in an office setting, with regular visits to the factory floor
