Job Description
Inside Sales Representative

Summary

Inside Sales Representative

North Kingstown, RI | Hybrid

The Inside Sales Representative manages customer territories, accounts, and contracts in a customer-facing inside-sales capacity. This role serves as a professional point of contact for customers while supporting retention, renewals, recovery opportunities, account growth, quoting, and contract-related activities. The successful candidate will build trusted customer relationships, respond promptly to customer needs, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to deliver an exceptional customer experience and achieve sales goals.

The role supports software and sales contracts and requires the ability to balance independent ownership of assigned accounts and territories with collaborative work across the team. Because the products and systems can be complex, the initial preference is for candidates who can participate in in-person training in the North Kingstown area.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned customer territories, accounts, and contracts, maintaining strong relationships and consistent follow-through.
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for customers and respond to customer requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support customer retention, renewal, recovery, and account growth initiatives through proactive customer engagement and follow-up.
  • Identify opportunities within assigned accounts and territories and support activities that contribute to sales growth and customer retention.
  • Manage contract-related activities, including renewal support, customer follow-up, documentation, and coordination of next steps.
  • Support quoting and sales administration activities, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and delivered to customers promptly.
  • Maintain accurate customer and account information in CRM systems, including Salesforce when applicable.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and Outlook to organize account activity, communicate with customers and internal stakeholders, and track follow-up.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and internal stakeholders to resolve customer needs, coordinate account activities, and support sales objectives.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities while contributing to a small, collaborative team environment focused on mutual learning and growth.
  • Adapt to complex products, systems, customer requirements, and changing priorities while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  • Work toward individual and team sales goals while maintaining professional, responsive, and relationship-focused customer interactions.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.

  • Previous sales experience, preferably in an inside-sales, account-management, sales-support, or customer-facing sales environment.

  • Customer relationship management experience with demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships.

  • Account management experience, including ownership of customer needs, follow-up, and ongoing engagement.

  • Territory management experience and the ability to organize and prioritize activity across multiple accounts.

  • Contract management experience, including customer communication, renewals, follow-up, or related administrative responsibilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional communication style.

  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and follow-through.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and remain accountable for results.

  • Customer service and relationship management experience.

  • Ability to identify opportunities and support customer retention initiatives.

  • Strong goal orientation, self-motivation, and resilience in a sales environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively while also taking independent ownership of assigned work.
