Lead CAE Engineer

Summary

As an individual contributor, candidate will be responsible for assuring quality of new features by utilizing his/her engineering skills and creating effective test plan and carrying out the testing of new introduced advanced features in Cradle CFD. Candidate will also utilize the knowledge on the new features for demonstrating the CFD capabilities on real world models from customers across all domains as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities

Advocate for quality processes and procedures throughout the entire product lifecycle, including inspections, requirements, code coverage, and quality improvement.

Set product quality expectations, create a test plan to measure these expectations, and ensure the plan's execution.

Understand the required quality levels at different product lifecycle phases and ensure the product functions in the customer’s intended environment. Collaborate with customers, marketing, and Customer Support to understand customer needs and requirements.

Record verification and validation efforts to ensure reproducibility of results.

Assess the product's technical capabilities, including ease of use, functionality, reliability, and serviceability.

Test the product for defects, limitations, and boundaries.

Collaborate and coordinate with Japan engineering and QA teams as needed.

Review functional and design specifications and other project documentation. Provide input on internal and external product and release documentation.

Coordinate efforts with software development and release team members to ensure quality software releases.

Prepare detailed reports on QA/QC activities, including test results, inspection findings, and corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of quality assurance and control processes.

Work closely with Japan team to ensure quality standards are met. Communicate QA/QC findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in QA/QC.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION:

    A postgraduate degree (ME, MTech, MSc or equivalent) in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Marine Engineering or other closely related fields.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum 10 years overall experience in commercial CFD packages with Proficiency in CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+).

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Extensive experience industrial/research working with CFD software

    Extensive experience/knowledge supporting and/or testing CFD software

    5-8 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control, with focus on automation.

    Strong knowledge of QA/QC methodologies, tools, and best practices.

    Strong programming and/or scripting skills will be helpful for automation of test suite

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

    Excellent communication skills

     

    Preferred Skills:

    Expertise in Cradle CFD Software

    Japanese Language Skills.

    Experience in Agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban.

    Having a relevant QA/QC certification (i.e. CQT, CQM) with proficiency in QA/QC software and tools.

    Advanced scripting knowledge in Python.
