Strategic Projects Intern

Summary

 

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Strategic Projects Intern for our QP/Irvine/remote location.

The Strategic Projects Intern supports the Strategy & Portfolio function. This team is responsible for providing strategic insights and recommendations across the different Business units within Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. The internship will provide opportunities to gain new skills and elevate the ones you already have.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ideate and support Business Strategy Frameworks to identify new markets for business development
  • Author one business paper on disruptive trends covering detailed analysis and structured thinking so as to identify the impact and/or recommend a strategy to enter the new markets
  • Analyze market trends and industry best practices for portfolio partnerships, specifically identifying opportunities to capture new customer value through competitive recommendations around GTM success.
  • Contribute to strategic thinking concerning the development of new business and Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence more broadly.
  • In collaboration with other leaders, make recommendations on new growth opportunities, build market models, new business case and explore new business models
  • Build market and value chain analysis to identify new markets and business development opportunities

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 3+years’ experience in software business e.g. product development, management, sales
  • Self-starter with strong data analysis skills
  • Exhibit strong executive presence and ability to build executive pitches
  • Strong MS excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • A curious mind, always learning and experimenting to find the analytical solution to a business problem
  • Knowledge of industry leading business frameworks e.g. BCG framework
  • Exposure to consulting type business case solving is preferred
  • Exposure to GTM models and partner ecosystem analysis is preferred
  • Dynamic and knowledgeable about relevant market players and trends- willing to research and scale
  • Eager to work across cultures in a global organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A mission-driven, team player approach; and a desire to make an impact and difference.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards
  • Hands on experience on business analysis and business case development
  • Ability to work Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week during the summer break.
