Position Overview
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Outside Sales Consultant is responsible for driving profitable growth across the assigned territory by developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence software solutions to improve customers' manufacturing productivity and digital transformation initiatives.
Working closely with application engineers, marketing, customer success, and product specialists, the successful candidate will execute a consultative sales process focused on delivering measurable customer value.

Job Responsibilities
Territory Management
- Develop and execute a territory business plan to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through strategic prospecting and account development.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospect identification through contract negotiation and closing.
- Maintain accurate opportunity forecasting and sales activity within Salesforce CRM.
Customer Development
- Build trusted advisor relationships with manufacturers across multiple industries.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes, business objectives, and operational challenges.
- Recommend software solutions that improve productivity, programming efficiency, machining performance, and manufacturing quality.
- Collaborate with technical specialists to deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, and customer presentations.
Business Development
- Identify new customers within target manufacturing sectors.
- Expand existing customer relationships by uncovering additional business opportunities.
- Develop relationships with channel partners, industry associations, and strategic partners.
- Represent Hexagon at trade shows, customer events, seminars, and industry conferences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing on lead generation campaigns.
- Work closely with Application Engineers throughout the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure successful software implementation and customer adoption.
- Share customer feedback to support product development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of B2B technical sales experience.
- Experience selling manufacturing software, CAD/CAM, metrology, industrial automation, CNC equipment, engineering software, or related technical solutions.
- Proven success managing a geographic sales territory.
- Strong understanding of consultative sales methodologies.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Ability to travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
- Experience within manufacturing, machining, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, or precision engineering industries.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, CNC machining, manufacturing workflows, or quality inspection processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
