Applications Engineer

An Applications Engineer provides technical sales support for all Hexagon product applications spanning metrology, demonstration, functionality, and performance. Additionally, are responsible for carrying out contract programming and product training tasks. All activities must be performed with a strong focus on the customer to meet or exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct basic hardware and software product demonstrations showcasing technical features and processes to prospective and existing customers
• Effectively communicate product benefits for complex applications
• Assist regional sales team in providing product recommendations for customers’ applications
• Prepare operating instructions and conducts training programs to meet customers’ needs
• Maintain positive customer relationships through effective interaction
• Prepare detailed technical specifications for quotations
• Develop programs/applications that effectively accomplish customer specifications/objectives
• Consults with customers and incorporates needs and feedback into application designs
• Provide technical support to our customers both on-site and by phone.
• Ensures programs/applications work properly after maintenance and testing
• Analyze and edit existing programs/applications as needed to optimize performance
• Take a challenging issue from problem statement through to resolution and follow-up
• Keep up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies
• Collaborate with engineering and marketing groups on product development projects
• Create training programs and tools to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electronics, or computer science
• Minimum of three years mechanical, electrical, computer, and software experience, Minimum 2 years of experience in dimensional metrology applications
• Solid knowledge of 3D CAD.
• Understanding of: Tolerances and geometric dimensions (GD&T); ISO 10360, ASME B89, and VDI 2617 standards; Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA, GR&R).
• Experience in operation and programming of dimensional metrology equipment, VB programming preferred.
• Advanced computer skills, configuration, and maintenance
• Must exhibit independence and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal assistance
• Must be able to travel extensively
• Fluent Advanced English
