Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our team in Raven na Koroškem, in Slovenia. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in financial operations, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a multicultural environment. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, three days on-site and two days remote, with the possibility of increased flexibility after the initial onboarding phase.
Job Responsibilities
Invoicing & Financial Transactions
- Issue and verify invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Oversee the netting process, ensuring correct offsets and settlements.
- Prepare payment orders in the bank applications.
- Review and process accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and proper matching with PO.
- Monitor and manage overdue payments, following up with clients and internal stakeholders.
Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare and distribute weekly status reports on orders and shipments.
- Check, validate, and post expense reports in the accounting system.
- Review, post and ensure accurate accounting of supplier invoices.
- Perform bank account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and ad-hoc financial analyses.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and inventory.
Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with external accounting and consulting services, providing necessary data and support.
- Support payroll processing by maintaining and submitting accurate employee timekeeping records.
- Conduct administrative monitoring and reporting to support business operations.
- Collaborate actively with HR, logistics, and service departments.
- Prepare and manage mandatory reports as per local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes.
- Generate additional reports as required by management.
Project Involvement
- Work independently on various change projects (eg. ERP upgrade).
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and drive improvements.
Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
- Excellent command of Slovenian and English both written and spoken
- Strong working knowledge of Slovenian tax laws and regulations
- Comfortable working in an international, multicultural team
- Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented working style
- Good knowledge of financial systems and MS Office
