Director Business Operations, Division Portable Metrology

Summary

The Director of Business Operations owns the end‑to‑end commercial operating model across process, systems, data, and pricing operations.
The role ensures that commercial execution is standardized, scalable, data‑driven, and business‑led, while partnering closely with IT and holding them accountable for the delivery of agreed commercial roadmaps.

This role acts as the single point of accountability for how commercial processes, technology, pricing, and data work together across the division and in alignment with other divisions.

Job Responsibilities

Commercial Process Ownership

  • Own and govern end-to-end commercial processes including Lead-to-Quote, Quote-to-Order, Order-to-Cash, Service Quoting, Renewals, and Aftermarket Operations.
  • Drive global process standardization, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across regions and functions.
  • Establish clear process ownership, governance, and change management frameworks to support growth, compliance, and customer experience.

Commercial Systems & Product Ownership

  • Serve as Business Owner for the commercial technology ecosystem, including Salesforce, Oracle CPQ, ServiceMax, Service Cloud, and related platforms.
  • Define product vision, roadmap, priorities, and business requirements, ensuring alignment with divisional strategy.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to deliver system enhancements, integrations, release management, user adoption, and operational excellence.

Data Governance & Analytics

  • Lead governance of commercial data domains including customers, opportunities, pricing, products, services, and orders.
  • Establish data standards, ownership models, quality controls, and governance processes to ensure trusted reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve data quality, integrity, and cross-system consistency.

Pricing Operations & Governance

  • Own pricing operations, CPQ governance, pricing structures, discount controls, and approval workflows.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy, margin protection, policy compliance, and audit readiness across the organization.
  • Lead pricing-related process improvements, communications, and training initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop a Business Operations function covering commercial processes, systems, data governance, pricing operations, and enablement.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales, Service, Finance, IT, and senior leadership teams.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve commercial effectiveness, operational efficiency, and business performance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in Business Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Excellence, or similar roles
  • Proven ownership of CRM, CPQ, and Service platforms in a global environment
  • Strong experience in pricing operations and discount governance
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with IT while maintaining business ownership and accountability
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
