Summary
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence Division is seeking a Divisional IP Coordinator to join our team at the earliest opportunity. The position can be located in one of our offices in Heerbrugg (Switzerland), Wetzlar (Germany) or another R&D facility within the EMEA region.
The Divisional IP Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supporting patent activities within our R&D in cooperation with local patent responsibilities, R&D managers and Hexagon Corporate IP.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the first contact person within MI division for patents and basic aspects of IP
- Establish and lead a patent community within the R&D teams and locations of MI division to coordinate patent filings, monitoring and FTO searches
- Coordinate patent strategies with MI Head of Strategy, MI CTO and the Global Hexagon Head of IP
- Support of MI M&A projects
- Patent Portfolio Management
- Coordinate patent activities in R&D projects within MI regarding tasks for patent filing, patent watch, landscaping, Freedom-to-Operate analyses, corresponding law firm involvement, oppositions, etc.
- Provide patent trainings for product managers, R&D project managers, tech leads, application engineers, sales, etc.
- Participate in internal tech days and analyze roadmaps to identify innovations early, coordinate necessary IP activities
- Prepare and circulate an annual competitor patent report
- Periodically report the current patent portfolio status to CTO / Technology Board
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or a closely related field, with a strong technical and scientific background
- Qualification as a Patent Engineer
- 5 years of experience in research & development, innovation management or technical product management, complemented by specialized training in intellectual property
- Fluent in English; German and all other main languages of great advantage
- Excellent communication skills
