SAP ERP Solution Architect (f/m/d)

Summary

The SAP ERP Solution Architect will lead the design, governance, and delivery of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s global SAP S/4HANA Cloud landscape as part of the multi-year Excelsior transformation programme. This role is responsible for defining architectural standards, ensuring system scalability and performance, aligning the global SAP solution across multiple divisions (including coordination with China), and guiding the organisation toward a unified ERP environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and operationalise the SAP Centre of Excellence and drive the technical operating model across three global divisions.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, detailed technical specifications, and integration plans for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
  • Manage SAP implementation projects end-to-end, including release and cutover planning, deployment, and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, PMO, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure project delivery on time and within scope.
  • Conduct technical assessments, oversee code reviews, and lead system testing to validate solution quality and compliance with non-functional requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure resolution in line with established SLA agreements.
  • Stay current on SAP product innovations and emerging technologies; represent Hexagon in expert forums and contribute to strategic roadmap discussions.
  • Support governance processes by evaluating new solutions, acquisitions, and technology proposals for alignment with the enterprise landscape.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering global SAP ERP implementations, with mandatory hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Cloud (public cloud).
  • Demonstrated success leading complex ERP or SAP programmes with enterprise-scale scope (typical project value ~£5M+).
  • SAP certifications or active progress toward certification, with deep understanding of S/4HANA Cloud architecture and integration frameworks.
  • Experience managing release and cutover activities for SAP deployments.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including engagement with senior leadership and steering committees.
  • Solid project governance background (e.g., PMP, Prince2) and familiarity with PMO-driven delivery.
  • Fluent English and ability to work effectively across GMT-aligned time zones; eligible for employment in designated EMEA countries.
  • Mandarin language  - is a big plus
