Country Sales Director Eastern Europe

Summary

We are expanding and seeking a Country Sales Director (m/w/d) to be based in Romania. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy for Eastern Europe, managing and growing the sales team, and driving business expansion across key industries such as automotive and aerospace.

Job Responsibilities

 

As the Country Sales Director for Eastern Europe, you will lead the sales strategy and execution to drive business growth across Romania, Serbia, and surrounding markets. You will manage and develop the sales team, collaborate closely with partner account managers, and work cross-functionally with service and product management teams to ensure customer needs are met. Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a growth strategy tailored to the Eastern European market
  • Managing the sales team and overseeing sales opportunities using Salesforce
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
  • Collaborating with partner account managers to grow both direct and indirect sales channels
  • Managing the sales budget and ensuring targets are met or exceeded
  • Representing the company in the region as the managing director with fiduciary responsibilities
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the sales team to foster engagement and performance
  • Participating in regional management meetings and coordinating with cross-regional teams to align business objectives
  • Ensuring regular presence in the office (up to two days per week) to support team cohesion and leadership visibility
  • Supporting internal departments such as Marketing, Service, and Product Management to align sales efforts with company goals

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales director or senior sales management role
  • Proven track record in business development and managing P&L responsibilities
  • Strong network and experience within the automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industries preferred
  • Knowledge of metrology sales or a solid understanding of customer needs in related technical industries
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies in a competitive market
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Romanian or other regional languages is an advantage
  • Willingness to be based in Romania with up to two days per week in the office and frequent travel within the region
  • Valid driver’s license and readiness to use a company car as a working tool for customer visits
