Applications Engineer – PC-DMIS
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer – PC-DMIS to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. This on-site position is responsible for delivering advanced metrology application support, developing and validating PC-DMIS offline inspection programs, conducting customer training, and providing technical expertise in GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional metrology. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales, and service teams to improve manufacturing quality, productivity, and inspection processes through Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence software and measurement solutions.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop, validate, and optimise PC-DMIS offline inspection programs.
• Deliver instructor-led customer training on PC-DMIS software, CMM programming, inspection best practices, and metrology concepts.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Support implementation of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence metrology software and inspection workflows.
• Provide technical demonstrations and application support for coordinate measuring machines.
• Troubleshoot programming, inspection, and measurement issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service, Product Management, and Engineering teams.
• Create technical documentation and training materials.
• Travel as required to customer locations.
• Maintain current knowledge of metrology technologies and industry standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
• Extensive PC-DMIS experience including offline programming.
• Advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5) knowledge.
• Strong blueprint interpretation skills.
• Experience with CMMs.
• Proven ability to teach technical training classes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
• Experience with Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence solutions.
• CAD software experience.• Manufacturing quality systems knowledge.
• Aerospace, automotive, medical device, or precision manufacturing experience.
Work Environment
• On-site position based in Chandler, Arizona.
• Manufacturing and metrology laboratory environment.
• Frequent computer and CMM use.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Travel upto 70% required.
